Thank you for taking the time to visit my photo collection. My work is a reflection
of an Afghan upbringing, a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of
Moscow (1970-77), working for Afghan Television and Radio, and a career in photography
here in America.
Collected here are some photographs I’ve taken at different points in my life. Most
were taken during various trips around America in the last few years, while those
of Afghanistan are over thirty years old. At that time, having no premonition as
to the future of my country, I donated over four hundred of my one-of-a-kind slides
to Afghan Television.
My sister was kind enough to bring more slides that had been left with the family
when she came to America. It literally took years to remove fingerprints, smudges,
and scratches in order to get my photos to the point where they could be viewed
and enjoyed again.
